Winne Odinga’s touching tribute to her father Raila Odinga

Kenya is mourning one of Africa’s most revolutionary leaders. Raila Odinga will be remembered as a selfless leader who put Kenya first.

During his last send off, people eulogised him differently. Among those who gave speeches include Kenya’s president William Ruto, deputy president Kindiki and former president Uhuru Kenyatta.

One speech however stood out. The speech of his daughter which almost made the entire Nyayo stadium shade tears. Calling him JOWI ( which means Buffalo), Winnie painted a picture of the kind of father Raila was.

The speech that has been shared more than a million times has made people believe, Winnie is well suited to Wear Baba’s shoes.

Here is part of her speech;

“I was with him in India when he took his last breath. He died in my arms, but he did not die as people have been saying on social media. Every day he was waking up and walking one round, then two rounds the next day. That morning, he pushed to five rounds. He died strong and with dignity and pride, and you must be proud of that.”
