VIDEO: Panga Boys Renounce Criminal Life, Surrender to Diani Authorities
By Feddy Madebe
KWALE COUNTY – Three young men who were members of the notorious criminal gang known as the “Panga Boys,” which has been terrorizing residents of Diani, have voluntarily surrendered to police authorities, declaring they have renounced criminal activity.
This brings the total number of surrenders to forty, following the voluntary submission of thirty-seven other gang members last year. The development marks a significant step in addressing gang-related crime in the coastal region.
The youths were received by Msambweni Sub-County Police Commander Robinson Lang’at, who has called on other members of the Panga Boys gang to follow suit and turn themselves in to authorities.
“We encourage other young people involved in criminal activities to voluntarily surrender. Failure to do so will result in their arrest and prosecution in accordance with the law,” Commander Lang’at warned.

The police commander expressed optimism that the voluntary surrender of the Panga Boys gang members will strengthen security in the Diani area, which has been grappling with criminal activities attributed to the gang.
Local authorities view this development as a positive sign in the ongoing efforts to restore peace and security in Kwale County’s tourist hub.
