As part of the partnership, Ms. Kendi was awarded a plot valued at Ksh 600,000 and a cash gift of Ksh 30,000. The company’s management expressed confidence in their decision, citing Ms. Kendi’s resilience and the public’s familiarity with her story as key factors in the appointment.
“We believe in second chances and supporting individuals who have faced challenges,” Mr. Kariuki stated during the announcement. “Purity’s story has resonated with many Kenyans, and we are proud to partner with her as she rebuilds her life.”

The appointment has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some Kenyans praising Comfort Homes for offering support to the mother of seven, while others have questioned the company’s marketing strategy and the message it sends to the public.
Ms. Kendi expressed gratitude for the opportunity, describing the gesture as life-changing for her and her seven children. “This is a new beginning for my family,” she said. “I am thankful to Comfort Homes for believing in me and giving me a chance to start afresh.”
The real estate company specializes in selling affordable plots across various locations in Kenya and has been expanding its marketing reach through unconventional brand partnerships.
This development comes amid ongoing conversations about privacy, digital ethics, and the responsibilities of corporations in their choice of brand representatives. However, Comfort Homes maintains that their decision is rooted in compassion and the belief in providing opportunities for redemption and growth.
Ms. Kendi is expected to begin her ambassadorial duties immediately, promoting Comfort Homes’ properties across her social media platforms and during company events.
