Msambweni MP Salim Bader Attends Three VSLA Share-Out Ceremonies

Msambweni Member of Parliament Salim Feisal Abdallah Bader participated in share-out ceremonies for three Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) groups across the constituency on Sunday afternoon.

The lawmaker began his engagements with the Stahamili Women’s Group in Munje before moving to the Nuru Njema Group, also located in the same area. He concluded the day’s activities by attending the Ukweli Group Harambee ceremony in Kingwende.

VSLA share-out ceremonies mark a significant milestone in the savings cycle, where members receive their accumulated savings plus interest earned throughout the period. These events serve as both a celebration of financial discipline and a demonstration of the cooperative model’s effectiveness in rural communities.

Speaking during the ceremonies, MP Bader expressed admiration for the commitment demonstrated by members of the savings groups.

“It is inspiring to witness the dedication and discipline of these community-based savings groups,” the MP stated, noting the transformative impact such initiatives have on household economies.

The legislator emphasized the broader significance of VSLA programs in advancing financial accessibility for communities that may have limited interaction with formal banking institutions.

“Such initiatives are crucial in promoting financial inclusion, fostering economic resilience, and empowering members to achieve greater stability and self-reliance,” Bader explained.

Village Savings and Loan Associations have gained considerable traction in Msambweni constituency as practical vehicles for community-driven economic empowerment. The model allows members to pool resources, access small loans, and build savings without requiring collateral or formal credit histories.

The MP reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to bolstering VSLA operations throughout the constituency.

“I remain committed to supporting VSLA groups across Msambweni as they build a stronger foundation for their financial security and collective prosperity,” he pledged.

The three groups that held ceremonies represent a growing network of community savings organizations operating across Msambweni’s villages, providing members with financial tools to invest in income-generating activities, education, and household needs.
