Msambweni MP Feisal Bader Breaks Ground on New Classrooms, Issues KSh 2.4 Million in Student Bursaries
By Feddy Madebe
MSAMBWENI — Member of Parliament Feisal Bader has intensified efforts to expand educational infrastructure and reduce financial barriers for students in the constituency, with the groundbreaking of new classroom facilities and distribution of scholarship funding.

Two new classrooms are set to be constructed at Marigiza Primary School, marking a significant expansion for the institution. The facility, which previously accommodated learners only up to Grade 6, will begin enrolling Junior Secondary School students starting next year following the infrastructure upgrade.
Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony, MP Bader emphasized a phased approach to development, with plans to add educational infrastructure annually until the institution becomes a fully functional combined primary and JSS facility.

The event also served as a platform to address concerns regarding financial accessibility in education. The Msambweni Subcounty Education Director received instructions to convene a meeting with all primary school headteachers in the constituency to address what were described as unfair financial requirements being imposed on parents during the transition to Junior Secondary School.
“As we work to make education affordable and accessible to every child, it is unacceptable for anyone to frustrate this process,” MP Bader stated during the ceremony, adding that such barriers must end immediately.

In a parallel initiative, bursary cheques totaling KSh 2,414,000 were distributed to academically strong but financially disadvantaged students under the Msambweni NG-CDF Sponsorship Program. The initiative, launched in 2022 following Bader’s re-election, continues to provide critical support to learners who might otherwise be unable to continue their education.
The first cohort of beneficiaries under the sponsorship program is scheduled to sit for their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations this year, marking a milestone for the initiative. MP Bader expressed confidence that the students would deliver impressive results.

The legislator emphasized that education remains central to his administration’s development strategy, describing it as a critical tool for social mobility and the greatest equalizer between privilege and hardship.
The dual initiative of infrastructure development and direct financial support reflects a comprehensive approach to addressing educational challenges in the region, combining physical facility improvements with measures to ensure students can afford to attend school.
