The event, brought together female voters from across the constituency and was attended by Shella Ward MCA Twahir Abdulkarim.

Speaking to the gathering, Governor Nassir emphasized the importance of Coast region representation in national leadership structures, arguing that opposition coalitions lack coastal leaders in their top echelons.

“The opposing formation has no single leader from the Coast in its top leadership. That means we are not at the decision-making table over there,” he told attendees, warning that the region’s interests risked being marginalized under alternative political arrangements.

Governor Nassir positioned ODM as the natural political home for coastal communities, describing it as “the party of generations” that has historically championed the region’s interests.

“With ODM, we have a stake. With ODM, our people are seen, heard, and represented,” he stated, calling for unity behind Kombe’s candidacy.

The rally forms part of intensified campaigns in Magarini constituency, where ODM is seeking to retain the seat. Governor Nassir’s intervention signals the party’s determination to mobilize its traditional strongholds along the Coast.

The by-election date has not yet been officially announced by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
