President William Ruto extended an official welcome to the internet personality on Sunday, highlighting Kenya’s appeal as a destination. “Kenya is not just another country; Kenya is a pulse, a feeling. Kenya is home. This is Magical Kenya,” Ruto said in a video message to the streamer.
Nationwide Engagement
The 20-year-old content creator, whose real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr., conducted his 13th live stream of the African tour on Sunday morning. His itinerary included a visit to Upper Hill School, where he participated in a rugby match with students.

His tour of the capital continued at Kenyatta Market, where large crowds of supporters gathered to meet the internationally recognized digital personality. The reception demonstrated the significant following he has cultivated among Kenyan audiences.
Wildlife Experience and Fan Reception
Later in the day, IShowSpeed visited Nairobi National Park, where he participated in wildlife feeding activities with hyenas, lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Fans on motorcycles escorted him along Langata Road to Carnivore Restaurant, where he sampled various traditional meat dishes.
Record-Breaking Viewership
During the broadcast, the streamer noted that his Kenya stream had generated unprecedented subscriber growth compared to other stops on his continental tour.

“We are about to hit 47.9 million. I don’t think you understand how crazy that is. No other country so far in this tour has been able to gain this amount of subs in one stream. Kenya is so far number one,” he remarked during the live stream.
The ‘Speed Does Africa’ tour represents one of the content creator’s most ambitious in-real-life streaming projects to date, as he continues to document his experiences across the continent for his global audience.
