KCSE 2025 Result Slips Ready for Collection, KNEC Announces

Education council also dispatches teacher training certificates to sub-county offices nationwide

Candidates who sat for the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations can now collect their result slips, the Kenya National Examinations Council announced Saturday.

KNEC directed students to retrieve their slips from their respective schools, confirming that all documents have been delivered to Sub-County Directors of Education (SCDE) offices countrywide.

Schools that registered candidates for the 2025 KCSE have been instructed to liaise with their local education offices to collect the slips promptly, ensuring students receive their results without delay.

In a parallel distribution exercise, KNEC has released certificates for various teacher education programs to sub-county offices across Kenya. The dispatch includes credentials for the 2022 cohorts of the Diploma in Early Childhood Teacher Education (DECTE) and Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE).

Also included are certificates for the 2023 Upgrading Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (UDPTE) and Upgrading Diploma in Early Childhood Teacher Education (UDECTE), alongside 2025 qualifications for Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) Certificate and Diploma programs, Diploma in Teacher Education (DTE), Special Needs Education (SNE), and Primary Teacher Education (PTE).

The Directorate of Adult Education has already received Teacher Certificate in Adult Education (TCAE) 2025 certificates for onward distribution to college principals.

KNEC has called on college administrators to work closely with their sub-county education offices to facilitate swift collection and distribution of certificates to qualified graduates.

Notably absent from the current dispatch are certificates for the 2022 Diploma in Secondary Teacher Education (DSTE) cohort. KNEC indicated that recipients will be informed separately when these credentials become available.

The announcement comes one day after the Ministry of Education unveiled plans to transform certificate issuance through electronic documentation. On Friday, February 13, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba revealed that KNEC would introduce e-certificates as part of broader modernization efforts aimed at improving efficiency and reducing costs.

The digital certificate initiative will initially target candidates who completed national examinations from 2023 forward. A pilot program is scheduled to launch by month’s end, allowing KNEC to assess system performance before full-scale implementation.

The move represents Kenya’s latest step toward digitizing its education infrastructure while maintaining security and accessibility standards for academic credentials.
