IEBC Jobs: Roles and Responsibilities
Voter Registration Assistant
The Voter Registration Assistant is a supervisory role at the ward level. Successful candidates in this position will be responsible for overseeing the work of Voter Registration Clerks, coordinating the movement and scheduling of biometric registration equipment, and compiling daily registration statistics. They will also be expected to track overall progress within their assigned wards and ensure that voter registration targets are met within the stipulated exercise period.
Voter Registration Clerk
Voter Registration Clerks will serve as the primary point of contact between the commission and members of the public during the registration exercise. Their main duty will be to facilitate the registration of eligible Kenyan citizens as voters, guiding applicants through the process and capturing the necessary biometric and personal data.
ICT Clerk
Candidates recruited as ICT Clerks will be responsible for the operation and troubleshooting of biometric registration equipment, including Kenya Integrated Elections Management System (KIEMS) kits and related hardware and software. A background in ICT or a related technical field is strongly recommended for this role.
How Much Will IEBC Job Holders Earn?
All successful candidates across the three roles will receive a daily stipend of approximately Ksh2,000 for the duration of the 30-day voter registration exercise. This translates to a potential total earning of up to Ksh60,000 over the full assignment period, subject to the terms of deployment.
Required Documents for IEBC Job Applications
Shortlisted candidates will be required to present the following documents during verification:
- A copy of their National Identification Card
- Academic and professional certificates
- Any other relevant supporting documents
All successful applicants will also be required to undergo mandatory training before deployment and will be expected to take an oath of secrecy in line with the commission’s legal and operational requirements.

Why These IEBC Jobs Matter
The recruitment exercise is part of a broader effort by the IEBC to strengthen Kenya’s electoral infrastructure by growing the voter register at the grassroots level. By deploying personnel at the ward level, the commission aims to bring voter registration services closer to eligible citizens who may not have previously registered, particularly in underserved and remote areas.
For job seekers, the IEBC jobs represent a short-term but meaningful source of income, as well as an opportunity to participate directly in Kenya’s democratic process.
