Tanzanian music superstar Diamond Platnumz has reportedly left Kenya for Dubai following a brief stay at a Nyali hotel in Mombasa, sources close to the artist have confirmed.

The award-winning musician, whose real name is Naseeb Abdul Juma, had been residing at the coastal hotel when management allegedly issued a six-hour notice requesting his departure. The reasons behind the ultimatum remain unclear, though the artist left the premises without incident.
Controversy in Tanzania
Diamond’s relocation comes amid growing tensions in his home country, where the artist has faced public criticism following controversial remarks about work and economic conditions. The musician recently urged Tanzanians to “stop complaining and work harder,” comments that sparked widespread backlash on social media and among citizens grappling with economic challenges.
The entertainment industry in Tanzania has found itself at the center of political and social discourse, with several prominent artists facing increased scrutiny. The ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party has maintained its grip on power for decades, though public sentiment toward the government has become increasingly critical amid economic pressures.
Unverified Claims
Social media has been rife with unconfirmed reports regarding political figures, including unsubstantiated claims about President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s whereabouts. These reports, which suggest she is in Malindi, Kenya, have not been verified by official sources or credible media outlets. The State House has not issued any statement regarding such allegations.
Impact on Creative Industry
The Tanzanian music and entertainment sector, which has gained international recognition in recent years, now faces uncertainty as artists navigate the complex intersection of fame, politics, and public opinion. Industry observers note that entertainers across East Africa are increasingly finding themselves caught between expressing personal views and managing their public image.
Diamond Platnumz, who boasts millions of followers across Africa and beyond, has not issued an official statement regarding his current location or future plans. His representatives could not be reached for comment at the time of publication.
