“CS Ruku Predicts Four Terms for Kindiki: Two as DP, Two as President”

MBEERE, NYERI COUNTY — Cabinet Secretary Ruku has thrown his weight behind Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, declaring that the Mt. Kenya region is ready to support Kindiki’s presidential ambitions in 2032.

CS Ruku campaigning in Mbeere

Speaking during campaigns ahead of the upcoming Mbeere by-election scheduled for November, CS Ruku boldly predicted that Kindiki would serve four terms in Kenya’s top leadership—two as Deputy President under President William Ruto and another two as President starting in 2032.

“Kindiki ni fotam,” CS Ruku declared, using the Swahili slang phrase meaning “Kindiki will lead for four terms” signaling unwavering support from the Mt. Kenya political establishment.

Mt. Kenya Region Rallies Behind Kindiki

The Cabinet Secretary emphasized that the Mt. Kenya region, a critical voting bloc in Kenyan politics, stands firmly behind Deputy President Kindiki’s long-term political trajectory. This endorsement comes as the region seeks to maintain its influence in national politics following the current administration.

“The people of Mt. Kenya are united in their support for Professor Kindiki. We believe in his leadership and vision for this country,” CS Ruku stated.

Sharp Criticism of Former DP Gachagua

In a pointed attack, CS Ruku criticized former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of resorting to profanity and abusive language toward other leaders during his tenure.

“Unlike the previous leadership that relied on insults and divisive rhetoric, Deputy President Kindiki represents dignified and constructive leadership,” Ruku said, drawing a clear contrast between the two political figures.

Battle for Mt. Kenya Influence

The Mbeere by-election has emerged as a battleground for political supremacy in the Mt. Kenya region, with both Deputy President Kindiki and former Deputy President Gachagua actively campaigning in Nyeri County, particularly in Mbeere.

The two leaders have been holding rallies and meeting with constituents in what observers describe as a test of strength to determine who commands greater influence over the region’s political landscape.

Political analysts suggest that the outcome of the by-election could signal which faction holds sway in Mt. Kenya politics—a region that has historically played a decisive role in Kenya’s presidential elections.

Looking Ahead to 2032

CS Ruku’s public endorsement of Kindiki’s 2032 presidential ambitions marks an early start to succession politics within the ruling coalition. If Ruku’s prediction materializes, Kindiki would complete his tenure as Deputy President in 2032 before launching a presidential bid.

The Mt. Kenya region’s political calculus has traditionally centered on securing the presidency or deputy presidency, making the region’s early alignment behind Kindiki a significant political development.

As the Mbeere by-election approaches, all eyes remain on how voters will respond to the competing narratives from the Kindiki and Gachagua camps—a contest that may well preview the broader political realignments ahead of the 2032 general elections.
