Armed Robbers Storm Kisumu Entertainment Venue in Late-Night Heist
A popular entertainment establishment in Kisumu became the scene of a harrowing armed robbery when two suspects raided Eco Zulu Bar late Saturday night, terrorizing patrons and staff in an incident captured on the venue’s security cameras.

According to footage reviewed by authorities, the armed assailants forcibly entered the premises shortly before midnight, with one suspect wielding a machete and the other carrying what appeared to be an AK-47 assault rifle.
Witnesses reported that the perpetrators immediately ordered all customers and employees to lie on the floor while issuing death threats. Security footage recorded one of the suspects shouting “Tutaua,” a Swahili phrase meaning “we will kill you,” heightening the atmosphere of terror inside the establishment.
The suspects methodically moved through the venue, frisking patrons and confiscating mobile phones, cash, and personal valuables. Before fleeing, the duo allegedly demanded money from the night’s sales receipts from bar management.
While no physical injuries were reported, victims described the experience as traumatic. “Everyone was terrified. We thought we wouldn’t make it out alive,” said one patron who requested anonymity for safety reasons.
The brazen attack has reignited concerns about escalating insecurity in various regions across the country, with business owners and residents calling for enhanced security measures.
Local police have confirmed they are actively investigating the incident and are utilizing the CCTV footage to identify and apprehend the suspects. Authorities have urged anyone with information regarding the robbery to come forward.
This incident marks the latest in a series of security challenges facing entertainment venues and businesses in the region, prompting renewed calls for increased police patrols and improved security infrastructure.
The investigation remains ongoing.
