VIDEO: Every Goal Scored in the Premier League This Weekend — Matchweek 30

A weekend of drama, shock results, and title race clarity in the Premier League. Here is everything that happened.

By Our Football Correspondent | London, England | March 16, 2026

MATCHWEEK 30 of the 2025/26 Premier League season has delivered exactly what English football has trained the world to expect — unpredictability, drama, and at least one result that left a fanbase staring at the ceiling on Sunday night. Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the table. Manchester United produced their most convincing performance in months. Newcastle continued their remarkable away form. And Liverpool and Tottenham cancelled each other out in a pulsating Anfield draw that left both clubs frustrated.

With eight matchweeks remaining, the title race is sharpening, the relegation battle is intensifying, and the European places are being contested with the kind of ferocity that makes the final stretch of a Premier League season the most compelling football on earth.

Here is everything you need to know from Matchweek 30.

Saturday, March 14

Burnley 0–0 AFC Bournemouth Turf Moor

A point apiece at Turf Moor in a contest that offered more tactical caution than entertainment. Burnley remain deep in relegation trouble on 20 points — seven adrift of safety with eight games to play — while Bournemouth’s draw keeps them comfortable in mid-table on 41 points. The hosts will feel the pressure mounting. For Burnley, every dropped point from here looks increasingly costly.

Sunderland 0–1 Brighton & Hove Albion Stadium of Light

Brighton’s clinical efficiency proved the difference at the Stadium of Light. The visitors took all three points with a composed performance that highlighted the quality gap between the two sides at this stage of the season. Sunderland, who sit 13th on 40 points, will be frustrated at another home defeat, while Brighton climb to 12th — level on points but separated on goal difference. A result that matters at both ends of the mid-table.

Arsenal 2–0 Everton Emirates Stadium

Arsenal were ruthless. Efficient. Commanding. The Gunners dispatched Everton with the minimum of fuss at the Emirates, collecting three points that stretch their lead at the top of the Premier League table to nine points over second-placed Manchester City — who could only manage a draw at West Ham later in the evening.

Everton, sitting eighth on 43 points, offered little to suggest they could trouble an Arsenal side that now looks increasingly like a team operating with the conviction of champions-elect. Mikel Arteta’s men continue to set the standard in what is proving to be the most authoritative title campaign at Arsenal in over two decades.

Arsenal: 70 points. Nine clear. Eight games to play.

Chelsea 0–1 Newcastle United Stamford Bridge

The result of the weekend. Newcastle arrived at Stamford Bridge and left with all three points in a victory that will do enormous damage to Chelsea’s European ambitions and enormous good to Newcastle’s. The Blues, sixth in the table on 48 points, were made to look ordinary by a Newcastle side that has quietly become one of the most difficult teams to beat in the division.

Chelsea’s inability to convert pressure into goals — a recurring theme of their season — was once again their undoing. Newcastle’s win lifts them to ninth on 42 points and sends a clear message to the clubs around them: the Magpies are not done yet.

West Ham United 1–1 Manchester City London Stadium

Manchester City dropped two precious points at the London Stadium in a result that hands Arsenal a significant psychological and mathematical advantage in the title race. City, who needed a win to close the gap, were pegged back by a resilient West Ham side that continues to punch above its weight despite sitting 18th in the table and deep in a relegation battle.

For City, a draw at West Ham is not a catastrophe — but in the context of a nine-point gap with eight games remaining, it begins to look like an opportunity that may not return. Pep Guardiola’s side remain second on 61 points.

West Ham’s point, meanwhile, is precious for entirely different reasons. The Hammers sit joint 17th with Nottingham Forest on 29 points — and every point in the final stretch of the season could prove the difference between Premier League survival and the Championship.

Sunday, March 15

Crystal Palace 0–0 Leeds United Selhurst Park

A goalless stalemate at Selhurst Park that suited neither side particularly well. Crystal Palace remain 14th on 39 points, while Leeds stay 15th on 32. Both teams will have been hoping for more from a fixture that offered the opportunity to create separation. The goalkeepers were perhaps the busiest players on the pitch. A draw that moves nobody.

Manchester United 3–1 Aston Villa Old Trafford

The result of the weekend at Old Trafford, and one of Manchester United’s most complete performances of the 2025/26 season. Three goals, three points, and a display that gave the Old Trafford faithful exactly what they have been waiting to see — a Manchester United team that looked like they meant it.

Aston Villa, who arrived in fourth place with European ambitions fully intact, were swept aside by a United side that pressed with intensity, attacked with purpose, and defended with conviction. The victory consolidates United’s position in third place on 54 points — three clear of Villa, who drop to fourth on 51. The top-four race, which had appeared settled in Villa’s favour, is suddenly a great deal more interesting.

Nottingham Forest 0–0 Fulham City Ground

The City Ground produced little in the way of goals but a great deal in the way of anxiety — primarily for Nottingham Forest supporters, whose side continues to hover in the relegation zone on 29 points. Fulham, 11th on 41 points, were content to take a draw on the road. For Forest, the dropped points are the kind that keep managers and supporters awake at night. The gap between them and safety is not yet insurmountable, but it is not comfortable either.

Liverpool 1–1 Tottenham Hotspur Anfield

The most anticipated fixture of the weekend produced a result that satisfied neither party. Liverpool and Tottenham played out a competitive, end-to-end draw at Anfield that felt — for different reasons on each side — like an opportunity missed.

For Liverpool, fifth on 49 points and chasing a top-four finish, the dropped points at home to a side sitting 16th in the table will be a source of significant frustration. For Tottenham, 16th on 30 points and looking anxiously over their shoulders at the relegation zone, a draw at Anfield is a result they can defend — but not one that resolves their precarious position.

The Bigger Picture: Title, Europe and Relegation

Title Race: Arsenal sit nine points clear of Manchester City with eight games remaining. Barring a collapse of historic proportions, the Premier League trophy appears to be heading to north London.

Top Four: Manchester United (54 pts) and Aston Villa (51 pts) are locked in a compelling battle for third and fourth, with Liverpool (49 pts) and Chelsea (48 pts) still within range. Four clubs, six points, eight games — the European places will not be settled until the final weeks.

Relegation: Burnley (20 pts), West Ham (29 pts), Nottingham Forest (29 pts), and Tottenham (30 pts) occupy the bottom four places. With Wolverhampton Wanderers (16 pts) already cut adrift at the foot of the table, the battle to avoid the remaining two relegation places is intensifying by the week.
