Morara Kebaso’s Secret Mombasa Getaway With Slay Queen Laid Bare in Shocking Audio Leak
Renowned political activist and businessman Morara Kebaso is facing a social media firestorm after an audio recording surfaced in which a woman claims to have had a secret three-day affair with him in Mombasa, exposing a sharp contrast between his carefully cultivated public image as a devoted family man and allegations of serial infidelity behind closed doors.
Morara Kebaso, one of Kenya’s most recognisable political activists and vocal government critics, has been thrust into a scandal that threatens to dent his carefully cultivated public image after an explosive audio leak emerged on TikTok alleging that he cheated on his wife with a woman identified as Gilo Ntinyari.
The controversy erupted following a bitter public fallout between Gilo and her partner, controversial TikToker Captain Samir, who took to social media to air the couple’s dirty laundry — and in doing so, dragged Kebaso into one of the most talked-about scandals on Kenyan social media this week.
How the Audio Leak Emerged
The damaging recording came to light after Captain Samir and his partner Gilo Ntinyari — widely described on social media as a slay queen — had a very public and acrimonious falling out. In what appeared to be a deliberate act of exposure during the dispute, Samir leaked an audio clip in which Gilo is heard confessing to having carried on a secret romantic affair with Morara Kebaso.
The audio, which spread rapidly across TikTok, WhatsApp, and X — formerly Twitter — sent shockwaves through Kebaso’s large and loyal following, many of whom had long admired him not only for his political outspokenness but also for what appeared to be a loving and committed marriage.
What Gilo Claims Happened
In the leaked recording, Gilo alleges that Morara Kebaso personally arranged for her to be flown to Mombasa, where the two reportedly spent three days together in what she described as a romantic coastal getaway. The alleged trip, kept entirely secret from the public and from Kebaso’s wife, is said to have included accommodation and leisure activities during their time on the Kenyan coast.
Following their alleged intimate encounter, Gilo further claims that Kebaso gifted her furniture sourced from his shop — a detail that has added a layer of specificity to the allegations that many social media users found difficult to dismiss as fabrication.
The Gap Between Public Image and Private Conduct
The scandal has struck a particularly raw nerve among Kenyans because of the stark contrast it presents between Morara Kebaso’s carefully projected public persona and the conduct alleged in the audio leak.
Kebaso has long presented himself as a morally grounded family man. He has frequently taken to social media to publicly celebrate his wife, sharing affectionate messages and presenting an image of domestic contentment that resonated deeply with his followers. His political brand, built on accountability, transparency, and speaking truth to power, has made the allegations of private hypocrisy especially damaging.
Behind the scenes, however, sources familiar with Kebaso’s social circles allege that his reputation as a womaniser is well established — a characterisation that the audio leak has now brought into the full glare of public scrutiny.
Social Media Erupts
The reaction across Kenyan social media has been swift, intense, and deeply divided. A large section of Kebaso’s followers expressed disappointment and a sense of betrayal, with many noting that they had held him to a higher standard precisely because of the moral authority he projects in his public activism.
Others, however, cautioned against rushing to judgement, pointing out that the audio emerged in the context of a personal dispute between Captain Samir and Gilo — raising questions about the motivations behind its release and the reliability of its contents as evidence of wrongdoing.
A number of commenters directed their frustration at Gilo herself, arguing that her willingness to engage in and then publicly confess to an affair with a married man reflects poorly on her character. Captain Samir, meanwhile, has also faced criticism for choosing to weaponise private recordings during a personal dispute, with some accusing him of deliberately using Kebaso’s name to amplify the fallout and attract maximum attention online.
Kebaso Yet to Respond
At the time of publication, Morara Kebaso had not issued any public statement addressing the allegations contained in the audio leak. His silence has fuelled further speculation online, with followers and critics alike waiting to see whether he will address the scandal directly or allow it to fade without comment.
The episode adds to a growing pattern of high-profile Kenyan public figures being exposed through social media leaks and fallouts between third parties — a trend that has made private conduct increasingly difficult to separate from public reputation in the age of viral content.
