KUCCPS Opens Kenya School of Law Diploma Applications for May 2026 Intake

The placement window runs from February 23 to March 9, targeting candidates with a minimum KCSE mean grade of C plain.

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced the opening of applications for diploma programmes at the Kenya School of Law, targeting the institution’s May 2026 intake.

In a public notice issued on Monday, February 23, the placement body invited prospective students interested in pursuing paralegal training to submit their applications through the KUCCPS online portal before the deadline of March 9, 2025.

Entry Requirements and Programme Details

To qualify for the Diploma in Law — formally known as Paralegal Studies — applicants must have attained a minimum mean grade of C plain in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE). Additionally, candidates are required to hold at least a C+ in either English or Kiswahili.

The programme is designed to equip graduates with foundational legal knowledge and the practical competencies necessary to support advocates, judicial officers, and other legal practitioners across a range of legal and administrative functions.

The Kenya School of Law will offer the diploma at two campuses: its Karen Campus and the Town Campus, located in Nairobi’s central business district. Students may choose between in-person day classes or evening virtual sessions, providing flexibility for working professionals and those with other commitments.

Broader Placement Context

The Kenya School of Law’s decision to channel its admissions through KUCCPS comes as hundreds of thousands of 2025 KCSE candidates await the opening of university placement applications, which the placement body has scheduled for March 2026.

The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) was the first institution to open its 2026 intake applications through the KUCCPS platform, with the Kenya School of Law now following suit.

According to the Ministry of Education, a total of 993,000 candidates sat the 2025 national examinations. Of these, 270,715 attained a mean grade of C+ and above, qualifying them for direct university entry. A further 507,131 candidates scored C and above, while those attaining D+ and above numbered 634,082 — figures that underscore the significant demand for tertiary placement across all levels of academic achievement.
