Another Man Falls to Death from Nairobi High-Rise as Kilimani Incident Claims ICT Executive

Authorities Launch Investigation into Tragic Incident at Kasuku Road Building

NAIROBI, KENYA — Law enforcement officials are conducting a comprehensive investigation following the death of a 51-year-old information technology executive who fell from a high-rise apartment building in Kilimani on Tuesday afternoon.

The victim, identified as the chief executive of a local ICT company, was discovered on the ground outside the residential complex on Kasuku Road shortly after midday on December 23. According to police reports, the incident occurred approximately 14 hours after the executive had arrived at the premises.

Investigators responding to the scene documented extensive disturbances within the apartment unit, suggesting a struggle or distress had taken place prior to the fatal fall. Officers recovered medical instruments, prescription medications, and alcoholic beverages during their examination of the property.

“The scene presented several concerning elements that our team is carefully analyzing,” a detective familiar with the case stated. “We found significant evidence of bleeding throughout the living space and bathroom facilities.”

The victim sustained multiple traumatic injuries consistent with a fall from significant height, including cranial damage and fractured extremities. His remains have been transported to Lee Funeral Home pending autopsy examination, which authorities hope will provide additional clarity regarding the circumstances of death.

While investigators are treating the case as a possible suicide, officials emphasized that the inquiry remains active and no conclusions have been finalized. The probe will encompass witness interviews, forensic analysis, and review of any available surveillance footage from the building.

This incident represents the latest in a concerning pattern of fatal falls from elevated structures across Kenya’s capital this year. In November, a university student celebrating with peers lost her life after falling from a 12th-story balcony in the Ngara neighborhood. Security camera recordings from that incident indicated the young woman had been attempting to traverse between adjacent balconies when she lost her footing.

The increasing frequency of such tragedies has prompted safety advocates to call for enhanced building security measures and greater awareness of risks associated with high-rise residential properties.
