Governor Abdulswamad Meets CHPs

Mombasa County holds the distinction of being the first county in Kenya to formally recognize CHPs through the provision of monthly stipends, acknowledging the critical role they play in community healthcare.

During the engagement, Governor Nassir heard firsthand accounts of the challenges facing CHPs and received their input on improving healthcare services at the grassroots level.

The Governor’s renewed commitment signals the county government’s determination to continue investing in community-based healthcare interventions that bring services closer to residents.

Community Health Promoters serve as the vital link between healthcare facilities and communities, providing health education, basic care, and facilitating referrals for more specialized treatment.
